Redemption Chapter 4My eyes flickered open, a new energy flooding my veins. Shock quickly turned my energy into wild gasps. Right in front of my eyes was Aiden’s beautiful, angelic face, his bright blue eyes returning the stare. “Wow! What an exciting night we had last night.” He whispered. Shock transformed into panic. Surely what I thought we did last night was a dream. There’s no way a creature like an incubus could exist. With that clarified, what did we do last night? Redemption Chapter 3My eyes flickered open. I yawned and stretched on reflex then rolled over sleepily. Something cold pressed against my neck. I reached up and grabbed it, half consciously trying to figure out what it was. I traced the edges of it with my fingers. It was something smooth with many facets. I sat up in shock. The necklace. The ruby necklace Aiden gave me last night. He is real! I leapt from my bed, too excited to notice that my bedroom door had been replaced. I threw on my clothes, ran a brush through my hair and tugged the tangles out, and, finally, brushed my teeth with such force that I was sure my gums were falling off. Redemption Chapter 2The conversation around me was just white noise. The coffee shop buzzed like it usually did when I went to meet Evie and Julia every morning before classes. I didn’t normally join in on any of the talk, but today my mind was abnormally spaced out. I kept thinking about the bizarre man that I dreamed about. After he disappeared from my dream, I woke up and was too lost in thought to make myself go back to sleep. “Maia, what’s going on? You’ve been staring at the floor for the last half hour.” Julia admonished. I snapped back to reality and inhaled deeply. “Sorry. It’s…nothing.” I lied. BRedemption Chapter 2
